Prof. Dejie Yu

Hunan University, China

Title: Research on weak fault signal detection method based on gradient acoustic metamaterials

Abstract: Weak fault characteristic signal detection is the research frontier of equipment condition monitoring and fault diagnosis at home and abroad. Acoustic metamaterial is a kind of artificial composite material with extraordinary physical properties, which can realize flexible control of acoustic and acoustic energy. Aiming at the problem that weak signal is difficult to detect, an enhanced detection method based on gradient index acoustic metamaterial is proposed. This method uses the strong compression effect of sound wave propagating in the gradient gradient refractive index acoustic medium to realize the compression enhancement of sound pressure amplitude. The numerical and experimental results show that the gradient index acoustic metamaterials can improve the local signal-to-noise ratio of weak harmonic signals by about 8 ~ 9dB and that of weak periodic impulse signals by at least 7dB. A fault signal enhancement detection method based on gradient index acoustic metamaterial was proposed. Compared with the traditional spectral kurtosis method, the proposed method can detect bearing fault signals with lower signal-to-noise ratio, and has a wide range of engineering application values.
